Resin Ribbon
The ink of a resin ribbon is entirely resin-based and fuses strongly to synthetic film faces. This helps keep the print legible under conditions such as contact with detergents, alcohol and solvents, outdoor exposure and frequent cleaning. It is usually not needed for paper labels; it performs better on synthetic faces such as PP, polyester, silver matte and void.
Chemical drum labels, asset and serial number labels, electronic component labels and markings that will stay outdoors are the main applications. As resin ribbon may require a higher print temperature, it is important to adjust the printer settings to suit the ribbon.
