Wax Ribbon
The ink layer of a wax ribbon is mainly wax-based and melts at a low temperature, which supports high print speeds. It performs well on smooth faces such as coated and matte paper. However, its adhesion can be weak on synthetic PP and polyester films, and the print may rub off under heavy abrasion or chemical contact.
For this reason, wax ribbon suits jobs used in dry conditions where moderate durability is expected, such as shelf labels, carton labels, and product and price labels. It can be used with common thermal transfer printer models; compatibility depends on your printer's ribbon winding type. When ordering, specify the width according to the label size and the length and core diameter according to your printer; also state whether the ink side is in or out.
